Mmmm... I'm so happy to finally have this done. It's a commission, believe it or not! 8D Had a little trouble getting started- but I finally bought myself some large bristol board.

Time: Prolly took me 25-30 hrs total, but I worked on it off and on for a week, so I can't be completely sure.

2010 edit: I didn't make this piece for myself, and the subject matter is very out of sync with what I consider important. Therein lies my greatest disappointment with this work.}

The use of color and decor in this is dazzling. I love that you went right down to designing her a complex t-shirt (her whole outfit is so original as a set, too.) She gives the light of a very imaginative, charming young girl. Marvelous curl in the tree, and those butterflies are spectacular - I like that you tied them right into the character by both making her as colourful as they, and adding a tiny butterfly charm on her wrist.

Great piece overall, flawless in my eyes. I'm not one so much for the anime style anymore, but ones like this that really go into detail and beauty make the common art type not take away from the effect.
